It's generally preferable to use an aerial attack for a little extra distance at the end, or just tap the hover button once holding it will totally kill your speed. Most long horizontal jumps through air gusts can be made with a perfectly timed JCDA off the very end of a ledge (jumping when you're basically already over the edge). If you need to jump/land at specific spots, try varying the timing and height of your jumps.Ĭhains are slower than JCDAs, so grab them as late as possible, and hovering kills your speed very quickly. Repeated JCDAs are the fastest way to cross flat horizontal distances. You can also jump out of a dash attack a tiny bit after you leave a ledge, which often actually gains more speed than normal I think, maybe from corner slopes/odd physics? You can do one aerial attack during certain parts of the jump arc without losing much speed, too. An alternative to DA on landing is to immediately jump again, which loses very minimal speed.

DA on -every- landing unless it will cause you to not be able to attack something you need to a tiny bit later. JCDA -every- jump unless it will cause you to overshoot even with the shortest jump.

There are NO circumstances where you should not start with a DA other than some Dojo rooms where you need to turn around or jump over a wall faster than you can possibly do from a DA. Lots of courses like to start off with some obstacle that screws up an immediate DAJC normally either a double DA (you can DA again if you hit something with the first one), an aerial attack after the DAJC, or an immediate short jump from the first DA will let you space things properly. If you need to jump immediately afterwards and the DA is causing you to overshoot, it's still faster to start with a DA and hold left to slow down than to not DA and slowly gain speed. Accelerating by running from a stop is very slow. It instantly accelerates you to max speed.

I'm just gonna use DA (Dash Attack) and JCDA (Jump-Cancelled Dash Attack) as abbreviations because they're so commonly used.ĭA to start every course, always, unless you immediately need to turn around. Adding some top legit players will help you get their ghosts over the hackers who perform horribly or disappear halfway through the course with their "top" scores. MrFopi and I (CelestialSpark) consistently post good times (MrFopi especially) and he's in the friends thread so he'd probably accept your request. An enhanced version for PlayStation 2 came out a year later.I suggest watching the ghosts of the top players in the horizontally-inclined speed challenges.
